A fun but occasionally maddening time. I think Thumper kind of skirts a very fine line between being nerve-wrackingly fast and just sort of seeming unreasonable. When it does manage to strike that harmony perfectly it's great; you clang through turn after turn so fast that you're barely aware of your own inputs, and it's immensely gratifying. On the other hand you have... whatever the very last level is. There are times when it tries to shake up the very simple gameplay in ways that end up not being fun!

I do also have to give a shoutout to the healing system. Being able to make health pickups by choosing to do maneuvers the game doesn't expect of you is incredibly cool, and adds a layer of strategy and depth to a game that's otherwise extremely execution-heavy.
