This game is not anything special but it's just nice and stuff. It's a cute handheld iteration of Sonic and while it definitely feels more like a generic platformer than a Sonic game, it honestly has a lot less bullshit than your average Sonic game. Despite the cramped screen space, the level design is never annoying or feels like its going against the game's design concept, which was something the Mega Drive Sonic 1 really suffered from. I commend it for that and I think this game deserves a lot more attention than it gets. Also the soundtrack is cool.
