Fun fact: Chex Quest 2 manages to make waaaay better city levels on the Doom engine than Doom II.

Well i finished the first Chex Quest a couple hours ago, and i was so hyped that i had to get my hands on it's sequel right away. It's pretty obvious to me how these levels are heavily influenced by Duke Nukem 3D -which was released almost 2 years prior-, not only because they are city-themed, but also because how it incorporates some jokes around pop culture references.

Map design gets a bit more complex here, from map 3 onwards, but still pretty fun overall. How do you make a 90's fps feels even more like a 90's fps? Simple: you add a sewers level. And that's what the final level of this one is. The only level i didn't enjoyed, but at least it manages to give you a nice boss fight that resembles the fight with the two barons of hell from Knee Deep in the Dead.
