Just like the FFVII Remake it took me a couple months to finish it even though I was on vacation for two weeks this time.

Final Fantasy has been a series I’ve really loved ever since I was in middle school and when I discovered emulation, I would play FF IV, V, and VI a good amount of the time and even finished FFVI once but never finished IV and V even though I got close to finishing them. I would later get VII and IX from the iOS store and I also really love those games. I do remember playing XV and VIII but I want to replay those here soon, especially VIII. I want to give that one another chance. And I played some of the mobile games which I might make a video on eventually.

And now we come to Final Fantasy XVI, which is technically a combination between a character action game and a JRPG. The gameplay is pretty fun, you only play as the main protagonist Clive which is something I do appreciate, you do have other party members but unlike something like FFVII Remake they don’t have any health, you can’t control them, and they only help out a bit during battles. But to make up for that, you later gain some abilities that add more variety to the combat and can be very useful while battling bosses. I love how they incorporate the summons into the game by technically making them Eikons and Dominates. Instead of summoning them, Clive can become Ifrit (the most basic summon in FF) and fight other dominants which are the highlights of the game. And the music is just incredible, probably one of the best OST’s in all of Final Fantasy.

The story is also engaging as well though I don’t really want to spoil it. But that ending though like damn. Overall, this is my third favorite game in the series so far and the best PS5 exclusive at the moment. It's not as incredible as something like Devil May Cry 3 and 5 but it's still really damn good.
