It's a fun JRPG that's aged surprisingly well considering the fact it's 26 years old, unfortunately there are some small things that hold it back (battle system gets a bit tiring by the end, the very last boss is a bit disappointing, respawning enemies are annoying when leaving an area or backtracking, etc.) but overall Chrono Trigger is a pleasant experience I recommend.

You should try Grandia it's similar to the battle system here but improved

I don't think their battle systems are that alike tbh
Found both on the easier side but I liked how CT handled its turns, techs, and positioning more at least.
