Not perfect by any means, but goddamn if these aren't my favorite Pokemon games. The music is fantastic, the story is one of the best from a Pokemon game (low bar but still), the character designs and interactions are fantastic, the cast of new Pokemon is incredibly solid, the world and exploration is solid, and the different paths are all great and help change up the formula. Even the graphics and performance, which are both the most criticized things from what I've seen, aren't massive dealbreakers for me. The graphics work fine - it's not the prettiest game on Switch, but the character models all look solid and it doesn't actively hurt your eyes to look at. The game does definitely need patching (5 fps npcs when you're not that far away doesn't loook great and I know people encountered a lot of bugs), but tbh in my ~51 hours of playing Violet I personally had a pretty stable experience in both bugs & framerate outside of multiplayer and the fairy star crew area.
