Absolutely loathed every design decision made with this game. Completely ditches any pretence of survival horror to become an action slog. Every encounter is just a bunch of enemies thrown at you with no thought for level design and the locations are extremely boring. There are so many quick-time events and on-rails sequences that are genuinely offensive to sit through and the boss fights are some of the worst in the series.

To top this off, the story is laughably bad, the characters are devoid of any likeability, and the gunplay and overall controls are extremely janky.

I really hope Capcom either go for Code Veronica or RE1 for the next remake as I don't think this really deserves a second chance, and that's not even counting the tribal sections of the game that are pretty obviously racist.

The only saving grace for me was the fact that, in co-op, there is still a lot of fun to be had (often at the game's expense). I can't imagine playing this on my own, I'd rather get the T-virus.
