A largely inconsequential semi-naturalistic screensaver.

The obvious positive things which persist throughout the entire game are the visuals and the soundtrack. They try a couple of art styles and it's all very pretty, while the music just sounds... good, and what you'd expect. But soon, I thought it was kinda kitschy. And that was before the story beats began.

Then it became really kitschy. Which wasn't obvious at first, because the presentation of the machines was outstandingly good and made me wonder why other games didn't manage to create this sense of scale, underwater or not. But it quickly became a tale of technology bad, nature good. It also featured cliché wall paintings of old civilizations which didn't result in anything. In the final moment, you can feel some sort of release as nature (good) destroys technology (bad), but it feels very shallow.

Overall, it's more of an escapism experience, while obvious effort went into making somewhat naturalistic recreations of (endangered) species both in appearance and behavior, and I appreciate the game giving you their names, as well as a dedicated meditation mode. I just wished for the story to be either omitted or presented better.
