A while ago I wrote a review for the RPG Maker 2000, so now it's time to also finally write a review for this one.

The RPG Maker 2003 was the second RPG-Maker I've ever used and is mostly just an upgrade of the RPG Maker 2000. It not only comes with somewhat more "realistic" looking assets but also switches it's default combat system from a turn based front view battle system to a speed based side view battle system.
The makers key components like mapping or eventing stayed mostly the same with some minor improvements here and there. These improvements however are big enough for me to give it a higher ranking than the RPG Maker 2000. (5 instead of 4.5)

Worth noting:
When the maker was rereleased on Steam, it also got some more improvements, like an extended picture system and bug fixes.

It might be one of my favorite RPG Makers out there, even though it is lacking the actual coding part of the later installments. It's also the only maker that I ever released games with. Nothing worth mentioning though, one was a cheap copy of Smash Bros. (not a good one) and the other one is a comedy game that I made with some friends when we were around the age of 12. So you can already guess that the quality and humor was obvioulsy top notch!
