Game #11 of 2024 finished!
This may be the best example of a game I know that is actually pretty mid being an absolute favorite of mine. The gunplay is fine, the story is beyond silly, the dialog ear-splittingly obscene… but I love it.
I love every second this game hurls the wildest string of profanity at me. And every minute the game spends letting me blow dudes up with explosives or impale them on spikes all for points!
Shooting, swearing, and scoring points. It really comes together perfectly and not very well at the same time.
But the part that pushes this Nintendo Switch version just over the edge to get that extra half point is the inclusion of Duke Nukem. You have got to be kidding me?!? Whoever decided to include The King in this is a genius. He spends the whole game cracking wise and telling people they are calling him the wrong name because he is just an insert. chef’s kiss
