It's really not the worst idea to turn Rocksmith into a educational subscription service on paper. Guitars are a pretty accessible instrument and the previous Rocksmith titles do a good job warming new players up to the basics of what it means to shred. Having a subscription service might open up opportunity for the dev team to unload more techniques and lessons with a bigger array of songs and features.

In reality, it's execution is...pathetic? Yeah, pathetic is the right word. This motherfucker (the software) barely works. It's laggy/buggy as shit. Not many tracks on offer inspire me to want to learn them and improve my general ability. The music being uninspiring in a music education game is not...ideal

If you want functional software, literally pirate Rocksmith 2010 or 2014 and learn how to import custom tracks. The modded content will respect your time and money by offering more fun and challenge than a billion dollar corporation is apparently capable of doing.
