This game was all alright. There was a good amount of time where I was genuinely really enjoying it and having fun with its mechanics and flow. The gameplay itself is pretty fun especially when you're in the flow of its combat. But a lot of the time I'd kinda be kicked out of that "flow" because of how tedious some of these enemies were to deal with. The game is hard, sure, but not hard in the way a game should be in my opinion. Lots of enemies and shit coming your way at all times with no breaks can be a bit monotonous and annoying.
The aesthetic of the game is pretty cool though. you feel like you're in a VHS Saturday morning cartoon and the simple story about going up in the ranks of a competition fits that pretty well. The story is very simple but hey, it doesn't need to be complicated or extraordinary to be at least enjoyable. The only thing I'll say is I feel they could've captured the aesthetic they were going for a bit better.
Overall, pretty fun game with some gameplay hiccups and a little wasted potential but still a fun time you should try if you're interested. (7.4/10)
