Gen 4 was about when I stopped caring about Pokémon when I was younger, so I can’t say I viewed this remake with rose tinted glasses.

That being said, it has some great QoL updates but it does seem kinda lifeless. The animations weren’t that impressive or expressive, the remade music was a letdown, and though I get what they were going for art direction-wise I don’t like it. Remaking a game whose walking was based around 4 directions into something 8 directional is….not a great choice.

All in all, it’s ok, but if you wanna replay or experience D&P I would just play the original.
