While I've never been crazy about old golf games, NES Open is surprisingly pretty comprehensive with the club selection, force and angles you can apply to the ball, and wind impact. It's a bit difficult gauging how far the ball will go since there are pretty well no indicators, but I suppose that's true to life as well. Plenty of modes to choose from too, and a built in save/continue feature is really nice.
