Remakes (Reverse Ranking)

#1 is the worst, #2, second worst, so on and so forth.
1. NOTHING IS OBJECTIVE
2. NONE OF THESE WILL EVER REPLACE THE ORIGINALS!!

Super Mario 64 DS
Super Mario 64 DS
Every single change this remake makes is for the worse. The controls? Worse. The new content? Cool on paper, but pads out the game unnecessarily. The graphics? They're "higher quality" but the personality just isn't there. Just play the original, it's VERY easy to emulate.

1

Mega Man Powered Up
Mega Man Powered Up
Looks worse, plays worse, sounds worse. This is very impressive, as Mega Man is a game from 1987. A game so easy to access you can play it officially in your browser right now. Here: https://captown.capcom.com/en/retro_games/1/en

2

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania
What I said about SM64DS but it's a remake of actually GOOD games (albeit with incredibly scummy DLC practices) Nonetheless, still just seek out the originals.

3

Pac-Man World Re-Pac
Pac-Man World Re-Pac
Don't let its proximity to Banana Mania fool you, this is SO much better at being a remake than that was.

Visuals are less interesting than the original game and the audio quality was somehow even worse than the original (when I played) but overall I'd consider it a net upgrade.

4

Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Some of the changes might be off-putting to some, but this is definitely the best way to play this game.

-Less bootleg-feeling aesthetic
-FOUR new worlds
-Streamlined, albeit for better and worse

5

Sonic Origins
Sonic Origins
Has its issues but is overall the best way to play the classics officially. you can't go wrong with the Genesis originals either.
