This is one of those cases where I’m sad I played the sequel first because it makes this game look much worse in comparison. Everything here works, it has everything I enjoy about battalion wars (which is a lot, I really do love the concept of these games), but man the difficulty spikes here and air vehicle controls just suck. Thankfully you don’t have to use air vehicles often and the difficulty spikes only happen like 2-3 times but they are VERY annoying. You can also break this game in half by just taking a single unit and going in and taking out all foot soldiers on the map, then just destroying all the tanks with tanks. Actually makes some missions obsolete. But yeah, this is pretty good. Definitely one of Nintendo’s more under appreciated series.
