I just decided to go through the single player of the first two games since from that first trailer it seems like 3 will have a heavier focus on that.

Look, Splatoon is fucking brilliant and was the first step taken by the new Nintendo out of their long creative slump. The single player levels are not all that special, but it's hard not to enjoy yourself while moving around in Splatoon. That's all there is to it.
