The Hunter X Hunter of video games.

D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die is a Telltale-like game if that's a term, it puts you in the place of a detective whose wife had died during an accident related to a special drug and the only clue that he has is that he needs to "look for D".

The game plays like you'd expect with point-and-click elements and interactions with characters, the main quirk of this game is the constant use of QTEs which can be a bit annoying, and the addition of a useless "Stamina bar" which whenever you do an action like opening a door or things like that it takes from that bar and you constantly need to eat items that you find around to keep it up.
It serves no purpose other than being here and you don't really need to worry much about it anyway, it's just useless.

The main charm of this game is the characters as they are really unique and all of the situations really show that it is indeed a SWERY game and most importantly, a Japanese game.

I honestly do recommend this game if they want a short and sweet quirky experience as it is quite one of a kind but you just need to keep the mindset that it will never get an ending or anything new since SWERY left Access Games and so he doesn't hold the rights to the game anymore and he doesn't want to purchase it from them.
