This game is so, so special and you cannot convince me otherwise. I don't know how many times I played through this game for months, probably years after it came out, but the feeling that Epic Yarn evoked in me is something I'm not sure I have exactly felt otherwise. This might legitimately be the best "easy" game ever made, which anyone could define differently but you probably get the idea of what that means. It is so charming I just want to take the game and squeeze it into a tiny little ball.

Every detail in this game is so thoughtfully crafted it hurts, it's just endlessly adorable and creative and worth every second to play through. Every cute little animation, like Kirby turning into a car or a sled or a rocket or parachute is made so well, every beautiful level carefully designed to fit a particularly theme, hell just talking about it makes me want to go back and play this game again.

Every single bit of this game just oozes charm and I don't think I'll ever get over how wonderful it is. Everything is backed by one of my absolute favorite soundtracks of all time; the entire thing is beautiful, calming piano covers or original pieces, many of which are some of the most memorable songs for me in any game I have played. Epic Yarn also paved the way for a bit of a mini genre of craft-focused games, with Nintendo having made several since, but none of these from anyone have exactly captured the charm that Epic Yarn has crammed in every nook and cranny. I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard anyone call this game a masterpiece before, but I have no doubts in my mind when I say it myself.

10/10
