Can't believe people go crazy for this thing. The humor was pretty good at times, but apart from that there's really nothing going on here. The gameplay feels like you're underwater which is apparently an issue specific to the remaster (great work team) and god damn did it make doing every little thing so painful. Obviously the the story is hammed up generic 80s stuff and it was pretty funny but it's possible to do that AND have me give a shit. I did not give a shit.

I honestly can't wait to get to this one (currently playing through the franchise all the way from the start), I have a feeling I'm gonna LOVE the wacky 80s aesthetic. I do feel like the "not giving a shit" part is applicable to the franchise as a whole imo. The stories have never been that good (to my memory)—as it's mostly the villains that people go crazy for. You should try the original though, it's awful but hilarious lol

@tox Believe it or not this villain only ever shows up in pixelated cutscenes, a far cry from the usual villain highlights of the series. If you have access to the PS3 version you should definitely play that, I'm not kidding when I say this remaster handles terribly - Apparently the dead zones, which I didn't even know were a thing before playing this, are way too big which is why everything feels delayed. Don't think a patch is likely years later. I saw your rating of the original and let's say I wasn't too surprised given the clips I've seen.

That's a shame, I was looking forward to seeing what they'd do with a villain in an 80s setting! It's a bummer you had to play the remaster, I'm pretty sure Ubisoft has a terrible track record with remasters/remakes and updates in general so that definitely fits... fortunately that won't be an issue for me since I play most of my games on PC—so I'm lucky there. And yeah I'm actually surprised the original isn't rated lower on here, a 2.9 is way too generous imo.
