I mean, it's more Watch Dogs.

For me, that's a good thing since I really like Watch Dogs, and Bad Blood is a nice lil epilogue DLC chapter to the base game's story... but it isn't much beyond that.

Now, it's somewhat unreasonable to expect a DLC, even one as generously-sized as Bad Blood, to be adding a bunch of new stuff to the main game, but it does come across as more of a glorified mission pack than anything else.

Once again though, I'm fine with that since Watch Dogs is good stuff, but if you're already kind of tired of some of the repetition in the base game's gameplay loop and particularly side stuff, there's not gonna be much to sustain your interest here.

However, T-Bone is a fun character to run around as and although he plays pretty much the same as Aiden, inhabiting him and hearing his weird, quirky banter and rapport with his former friend and colleague Tobias Frewer is fun and oddly sweet at times. It's a fun little story and maintains the base game's level of thrills and intrigue.

That said, when it comes to the serious stuff in T-Bone's past, those events and the moral and psychological impact isn't explored nearly enough as it should have been, and is really only relevant in the story's last couple missions, which is a shame, especially when considering how integral those themes were to Aiden's story.

Bad Blood's two big gameplay additions are a new RC car gadget that enables you to sneak through and scope restricted areas out and stun enemies silently and undetected. It's nifty, however there's only really one section of the campaign that explicitly requires the use of it. The other addition is a new series of missions called 'Street Sweep', where T-Bone has to act as vigilante for a local detective. Really though, these missions are just repackaged repeatable side stuff from the base game and nothing particularly unique.

Still, overall Bad Blood is a nice little addendum to the base game's story and as a whole, with some fun writing and character moments and a cool new gadget, but that's about it.

6/10
