Playing The Grid with several people was probably the peak arcade experience for me; I think The Grid just purely exemplifies the arcade game in a way that couldn't be fully replicated outside of the arcade. You could totally make a home console/PC version (And I would love a full remaster) but it wouldn't be the same of using a joystick and track ball to run around an arena blasting the people next to you with killer loudspeakers, cannonballs, and sawblades. Just a blast to play and if you ever have the opportunity to play the actual cabs of it with people don't pass it up.

There was this game at the (then) Sony Metreon Arcade in San Francisco that me and my friends would spend the entire trip there and THIS IS THAT GAME I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR ALMOST TWO DECADES NOW

There's a full six-player two cab setup at Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield, Illinois. Place is pretty much a video game museum.

I shouldn't be surprised they have cabs for it! That's always been someplace I wanted to check out if I ever make it out to Chicago.
