I get it. Its not supposed to be Bloodborne. Its supposed to be "Bloodborne" if Bloodborne was a game someone made in the 90s. The question it makes me ask is: why does anyone want that? I think theres alot of convenient interpretation for what a 90s PS1 Bloodborne would be here, idk I do not jive with this one. Bloodborne Kart makes so much more sense, I anticipate liking that way more.

I know this is mostly rhetorical and I don't disagree, but you also made me think about why *I would make something like this, and I think it just boils down to having the "creator's curse" as an artist, where I see something cool and want to imitate it in a unique way. Imitation being the sincerest form of admiration, I think this is a perfect example of something not really needing* to exist as a "product," but makes total sense as a personal creation. It's like making the most complex fanart of all time just so you feel like you've satisfied the urge. Plus, 100% agree on Bloodborne Kart, and I think it's really cool that it exists because this little personal project was so popular

I think that makes perfect sense and I should have approached it that way. My vector into this was largely informed by the "why no Bloodborne on PC" that everyone seemed to be championing this game as satisfying - which is decidedly not Bloodborne on PC in this case.

Considering Bloodborne Kart can afford to be "debranded" and still makes sense, I still feel affirmed in my feeling about it tho. Without "Bloodborne" in Bloodborne Demake, I have a hard time thinking it makes any sense at all as a game.

do you even know what a "demake" means?

@_YALP right, fully agree. I think the FromSoft fandom by nature is a little sensitive about things like a Bloodborne PC port (rightfully so, it's wild that it hasn't happened yet), so it's interesting to see such varied reception that essentially boils down to;
"this is absolutely satisfying the need for a PC port (which the creator wasn't really intending to do, so this claim maybe sets up a false expectation),"
or the equally valid "this is a cool experiment that's ultimately pointless as a 'product' but rules as a showcase of love." So I think how someone comes into this game/demo/project is VERY informed by what other people are saying about it, which is super interesting to me, especially since it's broken out of the indie sphere and Sony is actually aware of it now

@Deiner
In a purist sense its "Game, If It Were Made On An Older System With Older System Limitations" - but lets be real, it mostly just means "Game With Older Style Graphics".

For you to make the case that Bloodborne PSX qualifies as the former, you are suggesting that somehow the original level design is impossible on a PS1, which sounds crazy. Youre also saying that all PS1 games need that inventory system, or any other unfaithful addition to the game that deviates needlessly from Bloodborne. All a PS1 demake of Bloodborne needs is draw distances, loading screens, and polygons - Bloodborne doesnt do anything else thats not possible in simple 3D spaces.

And therefore, Bloodborne PSX also fails the latter definition by making so many unnecessary changes to the source material.

Like, both avenues for your criticism of me here dont work very well. This isnt a good demake even by demake standards.
