If you enjoy playing the Pokémon TCG, even casually like me, this game is a very fun experience. Despite the rule changes from base set to current times, it's just as easy to understand yet has a lot of strategy.

This games biggest issues are a lack of a postgame and the nuisance of building multiple decks. The game encourages building multiple decks, but you can only use the amount of cards that you actually own across all 4 of your deck slots. This means that if you have 2 Potion cards and you put 2 in one deck, you can't put any more Potion cards in the rest of the decks without first removing them from the first deck. There's literally no reason to put this limitation when you're able to modify your deck anywhere you want and even in between consecutive trainer battles like this games Elite 4. Also, there's very little reason to play the game after obtaining the very unique and fun Legendary Cards besides battling a friend (not happening in today's time) and completing your collection (which requires 2 easy to miss promotional cards and several cards exclusive to another multiplayer function).
