Sonic Adventure 2 has been, and continues to be, my favorite game of all time. While some of that is certainly nostalgia talking, I do regularly replay the game and am always pleased that I find it as enjoyable all these years later as I did back in the day. The levels are fun and well designed. The music is upbeat and thematic. The story is the right mix of light-hearted and serious, a mix that future Sonic games have yet to really get right again. Newcomers Shadow and Rogue immediately fit in perfectly with the rest of the cast. While I'm apparently one of the few who adores the treasure hunting levels, they are a great sandbox to play in. The Chao garden, which could've been a tiny mini-game, is a surprisingly in-depth pet raising mechanic. All I want in life is not for Sega to remake or remaster this game, but for them to just make more of it. Alas, I must be content with what we have, and it is the children who are wrong, this game still slaps.
