SH: Downpour focuses on Murphy Pendleton who has been incarcerated for several years for stealing a police cruiser and crossing state borders. After a riot, Murphy is placed under the supervision of officer Anne Cunningham, who has significant animosity towards him, and is in the process of being transported to another penitentiary when the transport vehicle crashes near silent hill. Surviving the impact Murphy finds himself unexpectedly free and decides to flee. Unknown to him the town draws upon the psyche of its visitors, forming alternative versions of itself with symbols from their unconscious minds, mental states and thoughts.
I actually like this when I shouldn't, I played on normal difficulty with normal puzzles. Many of the monster designs are very boring/not memorable. The combat is alright but you can get caught in a stun lock from monster attack especially if there is a group of them. We have breakable weapons again but it's fine cause in every other room there will always be a weapon of sorts. There are many side quests in this game and apparently that can change the outcome of the ending. I did not do any of the side quests but if you do them you'll get more healing items and ammo. The puzzles were no problem just remembering or writing them down. The story is not really clear especially when you get to the ending as they all are very different and do contradict the story itself. I got the reversal ending which I did not like because it switched the roles of Murphy and Officer Anne. So now Anne is the felon and Murphy is the Officer ???? Is it just an infinite loop? I don't actually know which ending is canon. The other ending : Forgiveness, truth and Justice, Full Circle, Execution and Surprise.
