I seem to recall enjoying this more the first time round. It mostly feels like chasing every possible conversation and item interaction until you find the trigger to progress to the next court case. Court cases can also be a little obtuse sometimes with exactly what you need to press or present, but this is made up for with great writing and characters. I'm going to finish the trilogy, but I am finding these a little bit of a slog to get through.
