Gameplay: A nostalgic visit to the franchise's beginnings is offered through Assassin's Creed Mirage, which takes inspiration from those titles' more linear and story-focused approach. The latest installment is similar to the first Assassin's Creed gameplay because it highlights essential gameplay features like parkour, close-range combat, and stealth. Reminiscent of the games Unity and Syndicate, the game utilises a "Black Box" approach to conduct its assassination missions, requiring players to look around the environment for different ways to approach and eliminate their targets.

Compared to the current Assassin's Creed games, Mirage portrays a more contained world and primarily takes place in the city of Baghdad, featuring unique regions such as the Round City, Karkh, Abassiyah with its House of Wisdom, and Harbiyah. With an extensive arsenal at his fingertips, the main protagonist, Basim, works his way through a compelling plot that occurs in a more personal, smaller-scale gaming environment. Assassin's Creed Mirage provides an original viewpoint on the experience with elements like the "Assassin Focus" ability, which enables players to defeat enemies simultaneously, and improved parkour systems that take inspiration from multiple martial arts. Although there's the possibility of growth in future versions, some players may discover the Contract Missions to be a bit repetitive.

Story: After the conclusion of Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Last Chapter, the narrative unfolds as the current Assassins utilise Basim Ibn Ishaq's blood sample to investigate his memories from the Abbasid Caliphate. The story unfolds in 861 CE, as a young Anbar street robber called Basim has visions of a frightening jinni. Due to his ambition to turn into one of the Hidden Ones, Basim stole an important artefact from the Caliph's palace. It starts off a chain of events that puts him as well as his childhood friend Nehal on the run. The narrative takes another path as Basim begins to tap into the Hidden Ones as they expose the influence of the Order of the Ancients in Baghdad, prompting Basim to unravel the mysteries surrounding the Ancient Artifacts

The plot, although not overly intricate, provides a balanced. narrative without being overly intricate. Although considered a bit "undercooked," the narrative offers a suitable mix of action, mystery, and emotion. Following a journey filled with memories of his previous life as Loki, Basim comes to a revelation that brings in a new chapter in his story and opens up for an understanding with those that imprisoned him in the past.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a return to form done right, and it is a great step for what is to come out of Assassin's Creed in the next 5 years. It's different from the Mythology Trilogy consisting of Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, but I do think that Mirage is the best Assassin's Creed offering since Origins. Of course, Mirage isn't as good as Origins, but it is better than Valhalla thanks to its shorter storyline, Improved Parkour, and The Combat system feeling more like Assassin's Creed again
