Final Fantasy 1 is a beautiful game that embodies the spirit of adventure wonderfully. Many people don't go back this far in the series history, and while I can see why to some extent as this game isn't modern final fantasy- it is simple, it is familiar, and it doesn't focus on character arcs or dramatic storylines- I think that this game has stood the test of time wonderfully. Exploring this world is just so fun and there is a simple beauty in wandering around and seeing your party grow. As someone who appreciates the simple joy of an RPG like this, it's very easy for this game to engage me in a very special way. As I crossed that bridge and the music swelled to tell me that my adventure was just beginning- this game was immediately solidified as a classic, pure joy video game that I will be replaying for as long as I love video games.

As for this specific version, this is my favorite version to experience. It has great visuals, QOL enhancements, music, and accessibility- but it also preserves things like the classic magic system that elevates the experience as I find it more fun in the context of this game. Great time!
