I got all the way to the elite four and then their Pokemon were 10-20 levels higher than all of mine and I didn't feel like grinding so I stopped playing there. This was my second Pokemon game after White and after loving White I was really excited for this one overall it was good but really shows its age a lot of the time. There's nothing this game does better than White and I can't speak for the other games but I'd imagine it's the same for most of them
