removed from this game’s historical context of being a massive influence on multiplayer FPS design, the single-player campaign definitely exists.

i don’t understand the appeal. there are standout missions, sure! the ac-130 is still cool if only for it’s commentary on violence (although on PC it has this strange motion blur that makes aiming more difficult than it needs to be.) safehouse is a fun mission if you ignore using air munitions and tackle each house raid how you please, even if your options are limited. the nuke mission is haunting, it feels like it came from a different game altogether. but there are far too many missions that amount to going to a point, shooting gallery, move to another point, shooting gallery, rinse and repeat. it’s not for me.
