This review contains spoilers
the game had a slow start for me but i really enjoyed it ! i loved the introduction of another battle style (especially one focused more on intimidation since. you fight high schoolers?!). including the school stories was nice because it gave me an incentive to go back to the school and kept it relevant even when u stopped going there in the main story. i will say i preferred the characters in this game but i enjoyed judgment's mystery more overall.
that being said... yagamis character felt... strange? i could understand his fixation on sawa if it was how he didnt want another incident like what happened with emi, but it was just... odd. and how no other character questioned why he was so set on "giving a voice" to a woman he hardly knew and didnt know her beliefs. and then he says "whos to decide whats right? who decides whats wrong? not us" like. What have you been doing the whole game then. i was really into the idea of yagami vs kuwana from a moral standpoint but yagamis argument relies so much on "well what about sawa" that im just. Yeah. ill side with kuwana.
quick personal gripes!
-saori's treatment in the game: excited that you get to play as her again. Did not like that they had to add in the part where her coworkers visit her at the club and you have to awkwardly flirt with them to not blow ur cover. stop that
-tailing: honestly preferred the way tailing worked in judgment. took me way too long to realize you could still hide behind things because there was no indicator. also i miss the little cutscene at the beginning where it would show the transition from Regular Gameplay to Tailing Segment. it was fun! the addition of "acting casual" was cool tho :0
quick list of things i enjoyed !
-skateboard! as someone who doesnt rlly use the taxis it was nice to have another way to get around ijincho quickly
-pawpularity! i really enjoyed looking for the cats in the first judgment, so it was a nice surprise to be able to interact with them this time!
-stealth! ive always enjoyed stealth segments in games, and it made sense for situations you couldnt fight your way through or slip in with a disguise.
-saori segment! even tho i complained about it earlier, ultimately i love playing as saori and i like the dress up part as well
overall Yes i enjoyed the game. it had a lot of potential but it kinda fell flat for me. i wouldnt say im disappointed tho just... a bit sad it didnt play out differently
