As a person who yoinked the username bombrushcyberfunk on instagram as soon it was revealed by that alone should tell you how much I was looking forward to this game, The jet set radio games have been apart of my life for a long time and their entire style and personality are huge to me and what I like.

Now, offrip BRCF fucking nails the entire artstyle, art, designs, and graffiti. It takes more of a jsr future look with the colors and environments with insane verticality, ramps, etc. The soundtrack as well while not as good as future imo it stands on it's own with unique sounds and it got me to play the entire game even after I finished it while only listening to its ost I personally think It's great. Personal standouts are Condensed Milk and Wanna kno (btw bringing 2mello on was a sick pick).

The gameplay is what I was most worried about for 3 years but honestly I think it's pretty damn good especially for a first foree, My biggest complaint is that for the normal moves its just press a button which I found lame compared to growing up with Tony Hawk games however I say this but I found it really engaging especially to play while in bed and I think its because the move set blends really well with the environments their crafted so well to work with each its so fun to make your way across the map in the sauciest way possible flipping in and out your traversal and doing boost tricks for that extra distance you need I think it's very well made but I definitely understand why people say it can be low energy or too simple cause of the gaps of sfx between and such. One BIG complaint to me though is that the graffiti stops you in your tracks but honestly when you memorize your favorite graffiti and can do them in a flash it's smoooooth and fun as heeelllll either way I'd like an option to choose one you can do quick after you beat the game instead of that but it didn't bog down the experience to me.

Story-wise honestly there's some batshit elements but it's a simplistic coming up story while fighting the police that reminds me of the jet set games wish it did more with some of the characters but there is some SHINY gold nuggets of lines written in there that really stuck with me along with some really entertaining humor.

The missions in this game while simple and reminiscent of those extreme sport games on ps2 I think they're done well and serve the story and all that good shit however I wish there was more variety across the areas but still really enjoyed what they did have.

and some smaller things with this game I don't want to gloss over, the controls feel great, I love the fact that you can switch between traversals however I wish each one had more than just different tricks and animations, the manual is so much better than the slide with the skates I chose skateboard every time. Also the areas are all pretty good with each one having a secret section and having a multitude of ways to try to get different scores and tackling them it ties into what I said with the gameplay but super well made Imo.

Overall I'm more than happy with this game I honestly think it surpasses the jsr duology in quite a few regards but there are some minor things I think hold it back and I would LOVE to see fixed or tackled in a sequel. Team Reptile u did good first time in a while my most anticipated game has lived up to what I wanted

Edit: I forgot the combat it kind of fucking sucks tbh BUT you can avoid it and it's more fun to bob and weave shit instead of fight
