A great supplement to the main game. The way the game uses visuals to convey its story is great, and the tutorialization of new tools is seamless. I'm also fond of the way exploration changes in the Stranger, compared to the planet-hopping loop of the main game.

However, the secret world's stealth sections were a bit too difficult and obtuse for me to figure out on my own, leading me to resort to a guide, unfortunately. Since Echoes communicates to the player nonverbally, the sequences of steps to get to each of the Archive sections completely went over my head. While I appreciate the mixup of gameplay style and understand its merits, it wasn't for me.

Also, I wish the (true) ending was something a bit more rewarding. Having to repeat the main game's ending only to add the Prisoner's section is a bit too much repetition for me. It also makes me wish I played through this expansion as part of the main game, not as an epilogue. I do respect the implications this character's addition here has on Outer Wilds' overall pro-science and pro-knowledge themes.

Overall, I highly recommend this expansion if you enjoyed the main game as much as I did (though, this is a spoiler-tagged review). Seeing a new perspective on the events unearthed in the solar system alone makes it worth it. If you like horror games with stealth mechanics, you'll probably be rolling your eyes at the issues I had with it.
