“Humorous” cutscenes that whiff more than hit (while dragging on), graphics that don’t use 3D and have a strangely ugly look like they were scaled strangely, and a greatest hits that feels like it doesn’t actually bring together the series’ best. I wish they’d tried something more ambitious for the 3DS. I found Get It Together to be a much more interesting twist on the formula.
All that said, I’m glad they did bring together some micro games from all the previous games on a system that can do mash, tilt, and touch. There is value in that.
