Ever since playing Future Cop: L.A.P.D. on a PS1 demo disc and being hooked on the transforming mechanism I have been chasing that high ever since. A couple of years ago after getting my PS3 I looked into getting a Transformers game to scratch that itch I had. What better way to get that Transforming goodness feeling than a Transformers game itself. I was both right, and wrong.

The first mission of the game is pretty straightforward. It teaches you all the basics, fighting, manoeuvring, shooting and most importantly, transforming. The transforming is as satisfying as I expected it to be. Next up (unsurprisingly) the second mission. The second mission of this game treats you like trying to play a game in the playground with the local school bullies. You need to stop the Decepticons from reaching a certain, unknown point on the map. There are up to 3 at once, as you’re stopping 1 or 2 at a time the other is heading towards the marker. If you catch up with it, you’ll struggle to stop it as your missiles need a second to lock on and fire while the Decepticon is turning every single corner. It was very frustrating. I gave it a good few attempts and gave up. If this is the second mission of a kid’s game and it’s unfair then god knows what the rest of the game is like and is it even worth my time and stress? Probably not.

Sad that this game which sat with its puppy dog eyes on my backlog for so long ended up turning out to be a load of rubbish. Hats off to those kids who grew up with this game and can complete it. I'm an old, slow adult who has so many hours left in his life and I don’t intend on spending any more of them trying to get past the start of this game.
