Hellblade II s a visually stunning and psychologically unsettling third-person action-horror game, you have to Walk along the footsteps of the psychotic and always speaking Pictish warrior Senua across a gloomy ninth-century Iceland. Her tribe in the Orkney Islands have expelled her for being unusual or a "witch" and she has fought across the sea to save her people from slavers.

The game has exquisitely dramatic directing, complex settings, and detailed faces, Its also easily the best graphically impressive game on the market right now as it stands. Senua's thoughts alternately chastise and uplift herself as gods, spirits, and furies. Througout the game I was pretty much guided around the universe by the sound design and direction, which punctuate the surroundings with chanting voices or drone noises.

Because Senua's psychosis(very impressive mechanic btw) makes it hard to tell the "real" world apart, the environment is teeming with terror. I was able to to parry, block, and hit only a single opponent while locked on to them in combat. Senua has a "focus" talent that increases with effective blocks and hits, but it is a draining and one-dimensional mechanic.

Even though I didn't spend nearly as much time playing Senua's Saga: Hellblade II as I had hoped when Xbox unveiled the project as one of their AAA flagships a few years back, I Like it. Although there was room for improvement in terms of both the story's length and the game's main mechanics, I still feel its a great product. If you were a fan of Hellblade 1 and thought it was fantastic, I guarantee you'll appreciate this just as much. I recommend it for the cinematic presentation alone, particularly to those who already own a Game Pass subscription, and If you don't i'd say wait for sale, I can understand why $50 would be a steep price for some.
