blatantly unfinished but honestly as time goes on it's probably my favorite devil may cry as loathe as i am to admit it. strikes the closest thing to a good balance between 5's complete lack of level design and 1's disjointed resident evil style approach to levels/puzzles and also has the best controlling combat in the series with nero. it doesn't have anything as cool as the vergil fights in 3 i guess (credo gets kind of close?), but to sully my reputation even further with my action game-liking friends those were kind of the only part i liked of 3 an exceptional amount so like... maybe between this and my jrpg takes i'm just wrong about everything and none of you should take me seriously.

anyway nero's character design here is the best character design in the entire series
