even if i don't think the indigo league ever had a particularly interesting set of trainers for the elite 4 in either iteration (lance is unironically one of the least interesting type specialists in the series), there is nothing i hate more in a rom hack than the developers and their friends inserting themselves as characters, and it's especially bad when they ruin one of the biggest parts of any pokemon game for it. one of the most fun pokemon experiences otherwise

@tailoredmuffin i think if you asked me before i played crystal clear how i felt about people getting rid of the johto elite four i'd probably react with indifference because i really do not care for them but even now it irritates me to think of it with crystal clear lol
i wouldnt mind the devs putting themselves in as like secret boss fights or something but as the elite four thats sooooo corny
