OK! I finally did it! I beat all of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk! Now I can deliver my totally unbiased views on this!
For starts, dot.EXE supremacy!

But! I want to just say right off the bat what I think are the weakest and worst parts of the game, which boils down to what the combat is. I really like the idea that they go for with it, and I appreciate that it feels like you actually fighting the cops in this game compared to other games like this (JSR and JSRF), but the fighting has no lock on, there's not really a weight to the action or the fighting, and it can be frustrating at times with how prevalent the fighting becomes, especially in later game stuff. Everything that has to do with the heat system, I kinda don't really like, which is why one of the first mods I got onto this game (when I was messing with all that) was to fix the heat stuff and make it more bearable.

Besides that, holy fuck I love this game so much. I wanted this to be a spiritual successor to JSRF and it succeeded in pretty much every way. It's stylish as fuck, the music is bombing, the art direction is fucking great, and all of that they carry over from JSRF, but it's taken even further with the addition of different playstyles (I wish it was more than just for flavor, but I still love it), a story that is genuine and very very fun, and a variety of locations and mechanics that make the game very very fun to fuck around in. I love how the combos are styled and how to keep that going, I love how the story isn't afraid to get goofy and weird, and I love that the ultimate main theme of the story is literally just "This shit is so cool!"
I'm so happy this got a lot more attention, I'm so happy that Team Reptile made this game, and I'm so happy that the community behind this has such a love for this game that there was so much mod support within the first week of the game. This is gonna go onto my list of comfort games, and I can see myself playing through this just as many times as I've done with JSRF.
This is my personal GOTY lmao
