I generally like the level design of this game. It's a nice merger of Metroidvania and linear cinematic gameplay, and combat is mostly fine.

I can see where they were trying to go with Lara's characterization, and it really is a double-edged sword. It's certainly anti-Nathan Drake, which is great that they did that, but it also really doesn't capture that darker themes properly. So in the end, Lara just ends up pretty flat and inconsistent character.

The biggest downside is the drab art direction. Almost no environmental structure is memorable, and the stormy, grey world doesn't help either.
