The style is incredible, the design of the enemies is interesting, the fights are brutal - there is no doubt about that,
But so far I'm a little disappointed,
I was really looking forward to this project, I didn’t play Zeno Clash on purpose, so as not to spoiler the mechanics for myself,
maybe, of course, the combat is somehow revealed further, but so far the combat looks like almost a "bitemap", without the ability to make any combos at all, you have a strong and weak strike, and dodge, but at the same time the enemies hit hurts enough that we have to constantly move and "hold" as carefully as possible. It seems that further it will be possible to put 2 fighting styles and a few special attacks, but I don’t think that this will critically affect the gameplay, for me - the core fighting system here is quite simple and boring, it’s hard to spend several hours in it in a row, but there are still interesting moments, for example, when you accumulate a special attack, you will hit from the first person, or, the ability to challenge your opponent to a ritual: a fun mini-game in dice, which, if won, can give you a slight advantage in the upcoming battle, but, again, it is too simple for now.
The plot here is not serious, some giant kills an old man who had a bird that can cure diseases, and we need to escort her to a safe place, fighting off ill-wishers along the way,
The structure of the world is similar to the "God of War", there are half-open corridors with hidden supplies and chests, a little "backtracking",
The upgrade system also seemed to me rather weak, I don’t see any reason to choose something, it makes sense to increase all 4 abilities only in parallel, although there is also some strange system for improving by artifacts,
At night, we turn into "Groot", we can explore sections that are inaccessible during the day, along the way we encounter very hardcore night NPCs, and also resurrect our character in case of our fall in battle,
