Before the game, I first checked out the masterpiece original - "Jet Set Radio" (2000) and got stuck in it for many hours, which, to my surprise, is sold also in Steam, and for only $8, only the second part remained unavailable-exclusive to the original Xbox (except emulators).
0 doubt that it was inspired by it, this is a exact copy, except that the "Jet Set" consisted of tiny challenge levels with thoughtful game design, but here we have more open locations where you can return and farm all the graffity like "Tony Hawk", well, also in battles with bosses you will be forced to beat your opponent on points by doing a combo of tricks, which is not difficult for the first time, but for someone it can become a problem at the next levels, because no one forced you to score points in the Jet Set Radio game - you just had to reach all the graffiti without dying, while there were more and more cops on the map ,and the level kind of "narrowed",
And, in general, this is a simpler and more casual version, there is an auto-grind, the faster tutorial, the mechanics are a little more responsive - 20 years later engines have become simpler, there is no difficulty in drawing graffiti now, there is new system with drawing a "key" from lines, in which it is simply impossible to make a mistake, pthe police can't catch you anymore because the locations are too big, and there is nothing funny in them, of course, in the original game there almost every skirmish with the police had a unique animation,
The world in the game is not particularly developed, the visuals are basic for the engine, very specific designs of people, huge legs - that's okay, but the angularity is clearly not for everyone,
But there is at least some story about finding yourself when you are an ordinary template robot, and about the opposition of groups, of course, as well as good black humor, at least in the beginning,
Some police robots now hook you with chains and pull you towards them - this is cool rly, no questions,
Oh, and you can change seats on foot, although it's useless, but this way you can fight better, since there is a 3-button combat system, consisting of the same buttons with which we do tricks, you can stun cops by spray, but it was also in the sequel - Jet Set Future,
The music is as basic as the visual, you get tired of it rather than relax, although I would not say that the "Jet Set" has a memorable ost, but it had its own atmosphere - that’s for sure,
By no means am I saying that the game is bad, it's done well, if you want a casual indie-medium JSR-like game and the price doesn't bite you, then take it.

Перед игрой впервые заценил шедевриальный оригинальный "Jet Set Radio" 2000-ого года и залип в нём на много часов, который, на моё удивление, продаётся в стиме, и всего за 8 долларов, лишь вторая часть так и осталась недоступным эксклюзивом оригинального Xbox (не считая эмуляторы).
0 сомнений, что вдохновлялись именно ей, это прям точная копия, за исключением того, что Джет Сет состояла из малюсеньких челлендж-уровней на время с продуманным геймдизайном, а тут у нас более открытые локации, на которые можно возвращаться и фармить все граффити по типу "Тони Хоука", ну ещё в битвах с боссами вас заставят побить соперника по очкам делая комбо из трюков, что в первый раз несложно, но для кого-то может стать проблемой на следующих уровнях, ибо в Джет Сете набивать очки никто не заставлял, там просто надо было добраться до всех граффити, не погибнув, когда на уровне становилось всё большие и больше копов, и уровень как-бы сужался,
А, в целом, это более простая и оказуаленная версия, тут автогринд, туториал пошустрей проходит, механики чуть поотзывчивей т.к. спустя 20 лет движки стали проще, в рисовании граффити теперь нет никакой сложности, тут своя система с рисованием "ключа" из линий, в котором ошибиться просто невозможно, копы теперь не могут нас догнать из-за слишком больших локаций, и от их "забавности", естественно, не осталось и следа, в оригинале там чуть ли не каждая стычка с полицией имела уникальную анимацию,
Мир в игре особо не проработан, визуал базовый для движка, очень специфические дизайны людей, огромные ноги - это то ладно, но вот угловатость зайдёт явно не всем,
Зато есть хоть какой-то сюжет про поиск себя, когда ты обычный шаблонный робот, ну и про противостояние группировок, естественно, а также неплохой чёрный юмор, по крайней мере, в начале,
Некоторые полицейские роботы теперь цепляют тебя цепями и приятгивают к себе - вот это рил зачётно, вопрос нет,
А, ну и ещё можно иногда перейти на бег, хоть это и бесполезно, но так ты сможешь лучше драться, так как тут есть 3-кнопочная боевая система, состоящая из тех же кнопок, коими мы делаем трюки, можно станить копов балончиком, но вроде это тоже было в сиквеле - Jet Set Future,
Музыка такая же базовая, как и визуал, от неё скорее устаёшь, чем расслабляешься, хотя я бы не сказал, что в Джет сете какая-то запоминающаяся для меня была, но там была своя атмосфера - эт оточно,
Я ни в коем случае не говорю, что игра плохая, сделано добротно, если хотите казуальненький инди-среднековский немного джет сет радио и не кусает цена, то берите.
