As with previous x.1 patches, this one is a mixed bag. The treasure hunting intermezzo is forgettable; the storyline in which Nanamo matures by learning that you shouldn't help desperate people if you can't profit off them is, well, disgusting in how it more or less presents this "character growth" as a good thing ("she's no longer naïve!" seriously, Ul'dah is such a proto-capitalist dystopia); but all of it is more or less saved by the touching moment between Raubahn and Nanamo. In a way, I think that, despite its many flaws, FFXIV is masterful in creating characters and making us care about them despite ourselves. Heroes more than villains, though, as I still abhor Zenos and am getting the worst possible vibes from Yotsuyu's return.
