Spider-Man 2 is a follow up to one of my favorite games on the PS4, so it's easy for me to say that my expectations were very high for this game. I am happy to say that the game met those expectations. The game improved in almost every area that I expected improvement. The traversal is definitely the most improved part of the game, which is incredibly impressive considering that was easily the best part of the first game. The combat has improved too, with there being less bells and whistles in some areas, but more features in other places. This mainly is due to the symbiote suit, which is exactly what i needed to be. Peter felt like he was way stronger with it than when he wasn't. Mile's new venom abilities are awesome as well, and I feel like the game does a good job at portraying how much stronger Mile's is compared to Peter.

The only real issue with the game, which really isn't an issue is the story. It's not that the story is bad, it's actually great, but it just doesn't have the same emotional beats as the first game. Other than that, it is fantastic. The side missions are better than the last game, with most of them hinting to the potential antagonists of the next game. Some of those side missions actually do the emotional moments better than the main story. They really help ground the character of Spider-Man as a human and not just a super hero. One more thing that I really enjoyed was the music. The music in the first game was great, but it was still a step up in Spider-Man 2.

Overall, I got exactly what I was expecting from Spider-Man 2, and that is perfectly fine with me. I had a great time playing this game and I am pumped for future DLC and the third game in the series to come in a few years.
