I like the idea of this game more than the game itself, if that makes any sense. It's almost relentlessly dark and has a very unique setting in that it's mostly sci-fi with very slight fantasy elements (rather than the other way round).

But it's one of the toughest RPGs I've ever played, often unfairly so, and the dungeons are needlessly labyrinthine. This is compounded by the fact that most of the branching paths don't lead anywhere of consequence making them feel like filler, and that random encounters interrupt the exploration literally every few steps making it very difficult to get your bearings. And then there's that cop-out of an ending (I will give it this - it had balls). I'm glad I experienced it because it's an iconic piece of RPG history, but I'm not in a rush to play it again.
