This is it. THIS is how you bring life into a game genre, it's a faster Mario Kart, but it also has characters from all kinds of different game franchises, AND the main selling point of races taking to both the skies and the seas. This is such a genius idea and I'm surprised this game is the first to really do it.

In terms of being a sequel to 2010's Sonic and Sega All-stars Racing, It's also great. taking aspects from that game that made it so great, like the extra minigames, and improving upon them. There are 21 tracks, and all of them are amazing, as they all use the transforming mechanic well, as the tracks will change as you go through them, like in Seasonal Shrine, where the season will change each lap. My personal favorite of these tracks is probably the Golden Axe inspired Adder's Lair, as it has all three modes, car, plane and boat, alongside it also just looking really cool.

Last thing I want to talk about is the character roster. In this game you've got 31 playable characters, of which 8 are DLC characters, and oh boy, is this is a good roster. As the games title suggests, this game has all-stars from all kinds of franchises, of course you've got Sonic characters, but then you've also got Beat and Gum from Jet Set Radio, Vyse from Skies of Arcadia, and even NASCAR racer Danica fucking Patrick, for some reason.

In conclusion, this game has a great concept and executes it to near perfection and is definitely worth anyone's time.
