bugs bunny crazy castle is a totally passable arcade y platformer thing in the year 2023, which is maybe more than it can ask for. in BBCC, bugs has to get the carrots and not get caught by any of the other anthropomorphs running through the maze. there are doors that take you up, doors that take you down, and various items that can be used to take out those who are after you. the gimmick here is that the player can't jump, which sounds like it would be terrible, being such an integral part of platforming as we know it, but in practice, not being able to jump restricts movement in order for interesting and tense situations to arise.

talking about its tenseness, it feels a lot like Pac-Man at times. quickly going through doors feels just like turning corners smoothly in that game, and BBCC often provides the same sort of excitement that game does.

the differences between this and Pac-Man though is that BBCC's designers made 80 levels (!!!) which are all different, and that despite that, Pac-Man is still the better game because there are no god damn stairs there.

oh also the fact that this game exists with 3 different sets of branded cartoon characters is hilarious.
