sorry, i dont check this site a lot but im glad you found it and liked it. i think i had a similar story around 14-15 where a friend tried to describe this game to me running laps in a gym class. basically i was dripfed info like "yeah there's this guy called leg horse and he just equips pants" and not seeing how that composited into a compelling game, but out of trust i gave it a shot, and now i'm here lol.
this definitely is one of thecatamites titles that doesn't 100% fit the overall jigsaw; you kind of have to look at a lot of the earlier games to see this level of angst, most notably i can think of veggietales 3d being this way too. its one of those things thats really hard to understand in the death of rpgmaker forum circles, hahaha. magic wand i think does leaps and bounds to tag off some of the original 'rpg musings' and i think has a much more reserved/modern argument to make about them, and in one of his blogs its said they are nominally connected, at least in rhetoric
