this game is very strange... there is a lot that turns me off about it-- needlessly horny character art, strangely edited text, lore that is always on the edge of being too ridiculous to take seriously, Vaporwave (I hate vaporwave), City Pop (people should listen to other Japanese music), etc., yet the loop of "traverse this barren uncanny valley in search of clues, ask everyone you know if they know anything about the clue, and follow the rabbit hole" was super effective, and i wound up caring a lot about the mystery. the ending, while not super fun and climactic (i knew everything by the time i went in for the trial) left me with such a strange feeling of unaccomplishment, one that was clearly intended by the devs, that i have to give them credit for it. i recommend the game, though i know many would not fuck with it.
